Sealants are an important component of providing people with a long-lasting finish on their homes. We have used Quad sealant on many customer homes over the years because of its superior strength and flexibility. Cedar siding significantly expands and contracts with humidity and temperature and sealants that are not able to stick to both sides of a joint will eventually fail. By fail we mean no longer providing a true seal on the joint, but also looking like an ugly cracked mess. This sealant is paintable with latex paints and stains after a 24-48 hour cure time.

One thing about this sealant that makes some homeowners and contractors resistant to using this sealant is that it’s very sticky and difficult to work with. However once you get used to it it’s not so bad, and we would rather use a sticky sealant that will provide a long-lasting seal than something easier to use.
